SWEDEN
GOTEBORG (ESGG/GOT)
Although the terrace is closed, you can go up
towards departure and before the security, follow the stairs to "SAS
offices". You can get limited
views of some aircraft parked from the glass. After security, domestic and international flights seem to
be separated. A good place to view
from downstairs is gate 18A-G as it extends onto the tarmac and you can get the
cargo and commuter side ramps.
MALMO (ESMS/MMX)
There is a small, free, open air viewing area on the right hand side of the terminal. From here you can see the stands on the right hand side of the terminal, the runway and the cargo stands. This area is next to the multi storey car cark and by going up the stairs in the corner there are limited views to some of the hangers. Walking to the left of the terminal and through some of the open air car park, you can see the stands on the right (left?) hand side of the terminal. This area is also visible from inside the terminal to the left of the check in area.

STOCKHOLM (ESSA/ARN)
All of the terminals are interlinked with a walkway, which is largely along the edge of each ramp and glazed along the length. Starting from the international terminal you can walk along the next pier, which is the domestic pier. If you walk along the length of this pier you can look back on several of the stands on the international terminal and also most of the cargo stands. On the other side of this pier is the outer edge of one of the SAS terminals. As you walk between these two terminals, look out in the other direction from the ramps and you can see the SAS hangars in the distance. If you then keep walking along, you'll pass from terminal to terminal with vantage points a-plenty. There are 3 other possible places in the airport. 1) Sky City is the food and shopping area and offers landside views of one of the main ramps and a distant view of the runway. 2) Terminal 3, which you can walk down without a ticket, offers superb views of the commuter aircraft (great for the evening rush), remote stands and a distant view of the cargo ramp. 3) Rai Café, first floor of Terminal 5. Cafeteria accessed via an escalator in between the check in desks. Views of T5 ramps and not as busy as T3 or Sky City. Staff don’t bother you if you don’t buy anything either. Great view of runway 01L/19R as well as aircraft taxiing in from the others. Keep an eye on the runways though, as they can change every couple of hours. Outside the airport there is a viewing mound and shelter. From any terminal, board Bus 583 heading towards Arlanda (NOT Marsta). Costs around 30 Kroner and runs every 15-30 minutes depending on the time of day. The route takes you in and out of the hangar areas, past the ‘Statoil’ petrol station and just after it runs under the large bridge carrying a taxiway from the new runway, the bus turns left up a side road. Usually takes 10 minutes to get to this point. Look up to your right and you will see the viewing shelter and mound. The bus then turns right and stops outside the LSG Catering factory, where you get off, walk back a few yards across the car park and up the steep climb to the viewing shelter. There is a picnic table as well, all located on a steep hill, adjacent to the new taxiway, linking the new runway to the terminal. But there are no food facilities. You can board the bus back to the airport from the opposite side of the road to where you got off. Please note, on the way back to the airport, the bus destination will be Marsta.
