DENMARK
BILLUND (EKBI/BLL)
There’s a small viewing area on the 2nd floor, which is very quiet and fine for spotting but no good for photography as you are looking through two sections of glass with a fair distance between the two and railings obscure the view. To the right of the terminal is a raised area, where you can get some pictures of aircraft parked at that end.

COPENHAGEN (EKCH/CPH)
Head out of the terminal and towards the taxi rank outside the terminal near the railway station. Jump in a taxi and ask for the “Flyvergrillen” (pronounced Floo-er-grillen if the driver has trouble understanding you!) just off “AMAGER LANDEVEJ" as there are two possible locations. Takes about 5 minutes to get there and costs around 80 Kroner or £7-8. Alternatively, take bus 250S from the airport and ask the driver to let you out at the point where you can connect with bus 73, which will take you further - cost 2.50EUR or 15.50DK and takes half an hour. Or it’s a 30 minute walk. The official name of the viewing area, with hot/cold refreshments, restrooms, raised seating areas, very good views of the runways and no hassle whatsoever. A favourite place for locals and visitors alike and many comment at how friendly and helpful everyone is. Open from 10:30am-8pm. You can't see the apron from here, but you get excellent views of the manoeuvring area. The raised mound is not covered so if it rains you'll have to shelter in the café, which has good views, part of which are blocked by the mound. If you want to stay airside, then head for gate B19 at the end of a very long pier. This is also an excellent place with views of arriving and departing traffic and pier A. There are no views of the very busy remote commuter stands and the far sides of Piers C and D, where the long haul flights park, but all flights will taxi in to view at some stage. In order to get these views you can spot from Pier C - when these gates aren't being used there is usually no one around and is very peaceful. You won't be hassled here either and is a good place to stay until the 'Flyvergrillen' opens. To spot from Pier C, go through passport control (no boarding card needed) and instead of going to the gates, go up the escalator following signs for D gates, but turn right and go to curved window. Gate A12 gives good views of all movements. If you want photos, go to the Flyvergrillen. If you just want to log, it would probably be better at B19, but then it's a question of personal choice. Another useful piece of information - you don't need to through customs and check in landside. There are transfer desks by the entrance to Pier B. I have confirmation that Servisair will check you in for the easyJet flights, but I don't know about the other airlines. There are no views landside at the terminal. 3 GA areas, of which only one can be seen from Flyvergrillen, but it’s not possible to read off anything from there. Take bus 30, bus stop between T2 and T3, ticket price 19 DKK - you get off at the bus stop right after the DHL buildings next to the old SAS-commuter hangar and from here you can also see the cargo area including two of the three AN26s usually parked there during week-ends, and sometimes a West Air Europe ATP. BUT in order to find out whether its worth the trouble, right after you pass customs, turn right immediately, go through the exit doors and pass the TAXI area, heading for the parking house. Go up to floor 6, there's an elevator, once there you have a somewhat distant view of the cargo area but you should able to read off any freighters, but none of the biz jets which may be parked behind them. For this you will have to take bus 30 as described before. The second GA area, which is quite small, is also visible from here. The 3rd GA area can be seen from the domestic terminal (T1). There are some windows where everything can be read off - you can grab the free terminal buss outside T3 running every 10 min - this is the most used GA area. You can take a stroll past the SAS hangars to the approach to 22L. After exiting the Terminal, turn right and walk behind SAS Cargo and around behind the SAS hangars. If you’re lucky, some of the hangar doors will be open. Carry on towards the approach lights and sit on the large stones that line the roadside just past the 22L centreline. A good place to stay until dark. The view from here is excellent – everything on approach plus the hangar ramps, commuter ramps and freight ramp. If you’ve wandered the terminals already, you won’t need to worry about not being able to read most of the departures from here. You can reach this spot by free bus from the Terminal to P17 if you don’t want to walk. Due the grounding of SAS DHC8s, many are parked outside the maintenance hangars and around the airport so keep a good lookout from the terminal and whilst taxiing in/out.

ROSKILDE
Very friendly, ask for an airside tour, they’ll need to check your passports and off you go. To get here from Copenhagen, at the main railway station there is a frequent rail service to the main station at Roskilde. Leave the main exit from the station and there are several bus stops outside, with a bus about every hour towards the airport. Only about 2 a day go directly to the airport, the others drop you on the main road which is about 20 minutes walk to the airport entrance. http://www.movia.dk/oversigtskort/Trafikkort/Documents/Hovedstadsomraadet/Det_store_trafikkort_25_09_07.pdf - click this site for more info. If there is more than just yourself, a taxi to or from Roskilde station is not too expensive, should be roughly £15-£20.
